The beginnings of inspiration…

Karen’s Story

As a child, no one liked to color more than I did. Five tickets for my family to attend the Ice Capades was my first award. Later a high school teacher recognized my artistic potential and mentored me through exercises in every media over a period of three years. Because of her I found my path to my preference for working in acrylic paint, pen and ink, pencil and colored pencil.

After careers in newspaper layout and design, followed by retail display and garden design I was given the opportunity to return to art.

My inspiration comes from the colors, patterns and shadows found in nature. I find that I am especially intrigued by the brilliance and uniqueness of tropical nature.

I am blessed to live in both the woods of Northern Wisconsin and the islands of the Florida Keys. You will most often find me in the cathedral of God in the great outdoors.
